What is ZTLGuard?+
An Italy ZTL (limited-traffic zone) alert app for iOS and Android. Package: com.zuki.apps.ztlguard.
Does it upload my location?+
No. Position is used only on-device to measure distance to zone boundaries. It is not stored or uploaded.
Do I need GPS?+
No. You can browse cities and zones without GPS. Location is optional for distance alerts.
Is the zone data official live municipal data?+
ZTLGuard does not represent a government entity. It is not affiliated with the Italian government or any municipality. Published polygons are adapted from municipal open data: Florence, Bologna, Bergamo, Pavia, Genova, Lecce, Trento, and Turin (CC BY 4.0) and Naples (IODL 2.0). Hours are not inferred from the polygons. Milan, Rome, Verona, Venice, and Pisa are labelled Demonstration and are not municipal truth. Does this stop me from getting a fine?+
No. ZTLGuard is an informational navigation aid. It does not grant permission or confirm a fine. Local signs and the comune always win.
What is free vs Premium?+
Free includes the map, Rome and Florence, foreground alerts up to 500 m, and ads on non-driving screens. Premium is an optional monthly subscription (ztlguard_premium): all cities, voice alerts, offline data, 1–2 km lead, keep-awake Driving Mode, background alerts where the phone allows, and no ads. The warning itself is not paywalled. The store shows the price.
Why isn't my city available?+
Zone data depends on official municipal open-data feeds. Some cities are missing licensed GeoJSON. Demo data is labelled in-app.
Can I report a wrong zone while driving?+
No. Driving Mode blocks reports to prevent distraction. Submit a zone report after you stop.
How do I restore Premium?+
Premium is a monthly subscription (ztlguard_premium). Use Restore purchases on the Premium screen. Cancel in your App Store or Google Play subscription settings.
